Best European Music Festivals 2024

Mallorca Live Festival

Jun 13 – 15, Mallorca, Calvià, Spain

Since its debut in 2016, the Mallorca Live Festival has quickly become one of the Balearic Islands' top festivals, and this year looks to be no different, with the likes of Blondie, Pet Shop Boys, Sleaford Mods and Underworld all swinging by for performances.

Dekmantel Selectors

Aug 22 – 26, Tisno Garden, Tisno, Croatia

This unique festival, known for its intimate industrial feel and limited capacity, offers a world-class lineup featuring over 80 artists. Notable acts on this year's lineup include Gabrielle Kwarteng, JASSS and Marcel Dettmann.

Defected Croatia 2024

Aug 1 – 3, Tisno, Croatia

Defected Croatia hits Tisno this summer, delivering a punchy four-day program featuring over 80 artists. Expect a curated mix of scene veterans like Mousse T. and fresh talent such as Aroop Roy, plus Melvo Baptiste, Dave Lee, and Monki, among others.

Stripping back the excess, Defected offers more than just music with its wellness sessions—a nod to the balance sought by modern ravers. With a practical setup including beach access, Defected Croatia stands as a solid choice for those who value substance with their beats.

Jun 29 – Jul 6, Roskilde Festival, Roskilde, Denmark A self-professed "playground for emerging talents and curious souls", Roskilde festival is one of the largest music festivals in Europe, and has been running since the 1970s. Though a focus on sustainability, activism, art and culture is the name of the game, the musical offerings at Roskilde Festival never fall short. Glastonbury Festival

This festival promises something special - especially in 2024, with a stellar line up that includes an eclectic mix of up-and-coming artists like Jockstrap, LA Priest, DEADLETTER, and English Teacher.

The festival will also host Queens of the Stone Age, Skepta, James Blake, and Royal Blood.

OFF Festival

Aug 2 – 4, Dolina Trzech Stawów, Katowice, Poland

OFF Festival, slated for August 2nd to 4th in the lush surrounds of Dolina Trzech Stawów, Katowice, unveils an audacious lineup that cuts across a spectrum of sounds, brings a lineup that's as varied as it is exciting.

Headliners include the synth-driven sounds of Future Islands and Bakar's blend of indie and hip-hop. They're joined by Clavish, known for his sharp lyricism, plus hyperpop panache from Alice Longyu Gao and Hotline TNT's noise-rock inflections.

Colours of Ostrava

Jul 17 – 20, Dolní oblast Vítkovice, Ostrava, Czechia

Big names like Queens of the Stone Age, Sam Smith, Lenny Kravitz and James Blake are set to grace the stage this year at Colours of Ostrava, which takes place in the iconic location of Dolní oblast Vítkovice in Ostrava, Czechia.

This festival will also feature vibrant performances from Gogol Bordello, Sevdaliza, and Dennis Lloyd, among others.

With its blend of historical industrial charm and a lineup that spans various genres, Colours of Ostrava offers something pretty unique - probably why last year it celebrated its 20th anniversary!

EXIT Festival

Jul 10 – 14, Petrovaradin Fortress, Petrovaradin, Serbia

EXIT Festival, a renowned music festival in Serbia, takes place in Petrovaradin Fortress, overlooking the river Danube in Novi Sad. The line up for this edition includes high-profile acts such as Black Eyed Peas, Gucci Mane, and Carl Cox.

The festival, which began its life as a festival in the form of a student movement fighting for democracy in Serbia, has grown to become a significant event on the world music stage.

Sziget Festival

Aug 7 – 13, Sziget Festival Official, Budapest, Hungary

Loveland Festival

Once dubbed "an essential pilgrimage for serious music lovers," Loveland Festival is one of the most well-known festivals in Europe of its kind, taking place in the gem that is Sloterpark, surrounded by lush greenery and serene waterscapes.

It's been a staple on the festival circuit for over 30 years, with the likes of Adam Beyer, Black Coffee, Âme (dj), Ben Klock​, Ellen Allien, Dixon and Eric Prydz all gracing the line up in the past couple of years. 2024 artists still TBA, but rest assured it'll be a big one.

By the Creek

Set in the idyllic Middelwaard, By the Creek is a genre-defying festival which takes place every July. This year's lineup already looks particularly promising, featuring Kiki Rose, Nala, Idaly, Bilal Wahib, and Rockefellababe.

From hip-hop to techno, attendees can expect a bit of everything, along with the chance to chill out or go hard, depending on your inclination.

Lokerse Feesten

2–11 Aug, Lokerse feesten, Lokeren, Belgium

How does ten days of multi-genre joy suit you? This ten-day mega-festival has been going since 1975 (yes, you heard us), so is pretty well known on the European festivals circuit.

It takes place in the charming town of Lokeren. The festival's diverse lineup, including the iconic Pixies and the captivating Future Islands, caters to a wide array of musical tastes, spanning rock, pop, jazz, and more.

Couleur Café

28–30 Jun, Parc d’Osseghem, Brussels, Belgium

Found in the city of Brussels' Parc d'Osseghem, this festival is a true celebration of global sounds. Action Bronson, Fatoumata Diawara, MonoNeon, and Nubiyan Twist all grace the billing this year, and the event is known for its eclectic mix of dub, funk, Latin, jazz, R&B, and more.

Rampage Open Air
